Adam M. Roberts is the executive director of Bethesda Green, a role he has held for the past three years. Previously, he worked for 25 years in national and international animal protection and wildlife conservation. He will discuss Bethesda Green’s model for community conservation which aims to empower Bethesda area residents to enhance environmental protection and create a sustainable urban ecosystem. This work involves community composting, recycling, raingarden planting and stormwater mitigation along with environmental education. Goals include increasing the number of businesses with Green Business certification as well as helping start-up entrepreneurs who have sustainability-driven business models. The organization’s mission is to address environmental challenges locally by creating a sustainable, green community.
