Neighbor and landscape architect Carla Ellern, ASLA, LEED® AP BD+C, has more than 25 years of experience practicing landscape architecture in both the public and private sectors. At Lila Fendrick Landscape Architects in Chevy Chase, Maryland, she designs private gardens and community spaces to create beautiful places that enrich people’s lives.  Carla received her Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and her BA in Environmental Design from the University of Pennsylvania. Previously, Carla served for four years in the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). At DEP, she provided technical leadership to homeowners, religious congregations, and other communities, and designed green infrastructure to reduce stormwater runoff through the County’s RainScapes Program. Carla’s professional focus includes improving the environment and people’s lives by promoting stormwater infiltration and the use of native plants. A registered landscape architect in both Maryland and the District of Columbia, Carla is the immediate past president of the Potomac Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, where she continues to serve on the Executive Committee.

Carla has requested that attendees suggest topics they are particularly interested in discussing.  Please send your suggestions to info@nccconnections.org.
