Leah Karrer will share local resources and services available in the DMV ranging from sustainable food delivery services to smartphone apps for finding eco-friendly businesses to reusable waste pick-up services. She’ll also discuss how to use individual actions to collectively drive far greater impact by influencing family and friends, local businesses, and government policies.
A tenacious champion of sustainability in her professional and personal lives, Leah Karrer is a senior sustainability advisor to the World Bank, advocate for zero waste local government policies in the DMV, and mentor to local and global organizations on green messaging and sustainable operations. After earning her doctorate at Duke University’s School of the Environment, Leah spent her 25-year career building, advising, and directing global multimillion-dollar conservation initiatives. She is the mother of two vivacious, eco-minded daughters.
