Our speaker, Ann English, is a landscape architect who is both a designer and teacher who combines planting design and engineering. Under her direction, the RainScapes program has developed into a model for private property retrofits for stormwater management using green infrastructure practices that include the use of many native plants.
Engllish holds a B.A. in American history from the University of Pennsylvania and a masters degrees in both regional planning from Pennsylvania State University and landscape architecture from the University of Georgia. During her graduate work, she studied historic planting design on the water section of the Approach Road of the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina.
