Please join us to hear our distinguished neighbor, Eugenia (Genie) Robinson, discuss the archaeological site near Nature Forward, where decades ago, prehistoric stone tools were found. The excavation revealed that the prehistoric site was visited by foragers for nearly 10,000 years. Genie will talk about how the dig came to be, why it is called the Nursery Site and what was learned from the amazing collection of stone artifacts.
Genie Robinson is a professor emeritus of the Anthropology Department of Montgomery College. While there, she worked with the faculty, students and Montgomery County Park’s archaeologists on the prehistoric Nursery Site. Genie received her PhD in archaeology from Tulane University. She and her husband have lived in North Chevy Chase for 31 years where they raised their daughter. Older children may enjoy this talk as well.
