Kate Stewart chairs the Government Operations and Fiscal Policy and Audit committees and sits on the Transportation and Environment committee. Kate leads efforts on fiscal responsibility, housing affordability, economic development, and LGBTQ+ healthcare access. Kate was the Mayor of Takoma Park for seven years. Kate and her husband Jon have been residents of Montgomery County for nearly 30 years, where they raised two children, Montgomery County Public School graduates.
